AVERE's Dissemination Material: EV Batteries Exemption from PFAS Restriction

Batteries.png

This document urges the EU, and in particular the European Commission and the European Chemicals Agency, to grant a derogation to the proposed ban for all the PFAS substances used in BEV manufacturing, clearly showing that currently there are no viable alternatives for cell manufacturing process of lithium-ion batteries.

AVERE restates its position on the proposed PFAS ban, also highlighting how water-based cathode processing would not manage to pay dividends for BEV applications. Moreover, the dissemination material that has been prepared, once again, shows the negative impact that the restriction would have on the entire battery value chain.
